IHOP (International House Of Pancakes), has changed its name to IHOb. Today they finally revealed what the "b" stands for. BURGERS!
In a news release, Brad Haley, Chief Marketing Officer for IHOb restaurants said, “Everyone knows that IHOP makes world-famous pancakes so we felt like the best way to convince them that we are as serious about our new line of Ultimate Steakburgers as we are about our pancakes, was to change our name to IHOb”. He went on to say “We’ve pancaked pancakes for 60 years now so it’s the perfect time to start burgerin’ burgers, and we’re kicking it off by flipping the ‘p’ in IHOP to a ‘b’ for burgers."
These new additions to the menu may be a way to get more people through the door for lunch and dinner, to try to meet the success of their morning hour rushes.
The name change seems to be a temporary way for the chain to promote its new menu items. They definitely had social media buzzing with guesses as to what the "b" stood for.
